La carte Panglacial Shinobi est une référence aux cartes Panglacial Wurm et Ninja of the Deep Hours de par son nom, ses types de créature et ses capacités ; ainsi qu'à Ophidian de par son coût de mana, ses force et endurance et sa capacité déclenchée.
La carte Foundry Helix est une référence à Lightning Helix de par son nom, ses couleurs et son effet.
Les cinq cartes Mischievous Sneakling, Gangly Stompling, Prideful Feastling, Feisty Spikeling et Chitinous Graspling, de l'édition Lorwyn Eclipsed, forment un cycle de changeformes qui sont associés aux paires de couleurs qui ne sont pas représentées par une des cinq tribus de l'édition.

La carte Hexing Squelcher est une référence à Vexing Shusher de par son nom (paronymie entre leurs noms), sa valeur de mana, son type de créature, ses force et endurance et l'effet de sa capacité qui empêche les sorts d'être contrecarrés.
La carte The Soul Stone, de l'édition Marvel's Spider-Man, présente deux sous-types d'artefact distincts Infinity et Stone, ce qui en version anglaise s'écrit "Infinity Stone" comme l'une des "Infinity Stones" que représente la carte.
Cependant, la traduction en version française est maladroite car ses deux sous-types "infinité" et "pierre" sont écrits "infinité et pierre" alors que ce serait "pierre d'infinité", sur le modèle de la carte Urza's Saga, qui correspondrait fidèlement à la traduction habituelle par "Pierres d'infinité" ou "Gemmes de l'infini" dans l'Univers de Marvel.

La carte Whisper Agent, de l'édition Guilds of Ravnica, présente une erreur d'impression significative dans sa version française : il manque toute la première partie de son nom dans son titre, ne subsistant ainsi que "chuchotements".

Les capacités d'Épuisement de Loot, the Pathfinder font référence au premier cycle de cartes de Magic (voir cette anecdote) de par leur coût d'activation et leur effet : les capacités coûtant

correspondent directement à Ancestral Recall (sauf si on fait piocher un adversaire!) et Lightning Bolt, tandis que la capacité coûtant 
est quant à elle un mélange entre Dark Ritual et Black Lotus (thématiquement proche du cycle), la production de mana de n'importe quelle couleur étant plus adaptée à la couleur verte selon la color pie.

And my 100th card was revealed!
So, on the 11th January 2016, I got my very first Magic the Gathering assignment - „Inefabble Blessing“. It was the peak of the 11 years of trying to break in. [...]
It is great coincidence that my 100th assignment was revealed in the same time as this 10th anniversary.
This 100th card is „Safewright Cavalry“, painted for Lorwyn Eclipsed art directed by Samantha Padilla.
[...] But my connection is with this set that it has such a huge milestone - 100th Magic the Gathering assignment. The biggest number of cards/artworks that I painted for any brand or game. [...]
